On July 6, 2021 at approximately 4:18 A.M., deputies were dispatched to the area of N. State Route 48 and Covington Bradford Road, Newberry Township on a single motor vehicle crash with serious injuries.
The vehicle had left the roadway and crashed into a nearby wood line.
The driver, Lucas J. Kelch, thirty-eight years of age, of Bradford was flown by medical helicopter with non-life threatening injuries to Miami Valley Hospital. The passenger, Bryan K. Gibboney, twenty-eight years of age, of Bradford was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
